A decidous tree, with rounded or spreading crown, named for its knob like thorns that form on the trunk. It bears attractive flowers in cream to yellowish white spikes, appearing with or before new leaves. Drought resistant. Makes a good garden tree, especially if planted in groups of 3 or 5. Non aggressive root system.
